*EtherTalk Link Access Protocol. EtherTalk is Apple's data link protocol that allows Ethernet cables to be used to connect an AppleTalk network.

AppleTalk Network Number and Zone Assignment

The LCS60 supports dynamic AppleTalk address assignment within a virtual zone of PPP and ARAP clients. (Refer to Figure 1-2.) Upon dialing into the LCS60, the

PPPclient is assigned an available network and node number automatically. The client then becomes part of the virtual zone configured on the LCS60; no special dialstring options are used.
