Overview

Configuration C

Figure 1-4illustrates a server that is plugged into a load segment of a UPS. Both the UPS and the server are directly connected to the network. The UPS is monitored by a Management Server that is located elsewhere on the network. The server has an installed System Agent that receives commands, such as displaying a pop-up message or shutting down the operating system, from the Management Server.

NOTE: Installed agents must be associated with the correct server or UPS load segment in HP Rack and Power Manager. For information on associating agents, refer to “Attached Agents Screen” in Chapter 5.
