UDP Digit Absorption 4
Use this procedure to specify how many of the digits dialed (0 through 11) by the
caller should be absorbed (not sent over the trunk) by the system when a UDP
call to a non-local extension is made on an identified route. Therefore, if the
number is dialed without a pool access code or without using a Pool button, the
dialed digits correspond to the non-local dial plan numbering. Digit absorption can
be used to modify the digits that are actually sent to the remote system.
Entries of 1 through 11 indicate that the system should not send the specified
number of digits, starting with the first digit dialed by the user.
NOTES:
1. UDP pool routes must be programmed before you assign digit
absorption.
2. Do not use this procedure to overcome conflicts between local a nd
remote extension numbering. Such conflicts can result in numerous
problems with system features.
