UDP Other Digits 4
Use this procedure to specify other (extra) digits that must be added by the
system to the beginning of the dialed digits when calls are placed on an identif ied
route. You may need to prepend a digit in order to accommodate the 5-digit
numbering of DEFINITY Communications System extensions in your private
network. For more information about techniques for handling these non-local dial
plan extension numbers “Non-Local Dial Plan Extension Ranges” on p age 3–19.
The user does not use a Pool button or pool dial-out code. Therefore, the dialed
digits correspond to the non-local dial plan numbering.
NOTES:
1. UDP pool routes must be programmed before you assign digit
absorption.
2. Do not use this procedure to overcome conflicts between local a nd
remote extension numbering. Such conflicts can result in numerous
problems with system features.
A maximum of 20 digits can be added, in any combination of digits 0 through 9.
Special characters such as switchhook flash, Stop, and # cannot be included as
extra digits. Pause is allowed in every position but the first.
