Installing and Cabling the Cabinets

Connecting by analog modem

You can connect a PC/laptop to the Avaya CMC1 Media Gateway through a modem. To connect a PC with an analog modem:

1. Connect the equipment as shown in Figure 26.

2.Connect the computer to the modem.

3.Connect an analog telephone line to the left most analog-line port on the modem.

4.Make sure that the modem’s DIP switches are set as shown in Table 8: U.S. Robotics Modem Dip Switch Settings on page 74.
