Adding or Removing Hardware

add data-module

To administer the data module that is associated with the TN2501AP ethernet port.

1.At the SAT, type add data-moduleextension/next and press RETURN. The Data Module screen appears.

Network uses 1’s for Broadcast Addresses? y

2.Set the Type field to ethernet.

3.Set the Port field to correspond to the circuit pack location.

In the example above, 1b0333 means Cabinet 1, Carrier B, Slot 3, Port 33.

Note:

The port number (final two digits) is always 33 for the TN2501AP circuit pack.

4.Set the Link field to an unassigned or next-available link number.

5.Set the Network uses 1’s for Broadcast Address? field according to the your network requirements.

6.Type a unique name in the Name field.

7.Press ENTER to save your changes.

8.If your system uses IP routing, continue with the add ip-route section.

9.Otherwise, go to the Test the IP connections section.

add ip-route

Use the add ip-routecommand to administer IP routes to the TN2501AP circuit pack. This administration is optional.
