Downloading and in stalling an applic ation
NOTE
Before you can download a paid application, you must set up a billing
arrangement, as descr ibed in “Creating a Google Wal let account” on
page 201.
1. Find an app lication you want to download and o pen its details
screen.
In the applic ation’s details screen, you can r ead more about the
application, includin g its cost, overall rating, and comme nts by users.
2. Tap Install (for free applications) or application price displayed (for
paid applications).
3. If the application re quires access to your data or co ntrol of any
functions on your phone, you a re asked to review and grant
permission before dow nloading. Read this scree n carefully. Be
especially cautiou s with applications that have a ccess to many
functions or to a signific ant amount of your data. Once you t ap
ACCEPT on this screen, yo u are responsible for the res ults of using
this application on your phone.
4. If you agree to the applicati on’s access requirements, tap ACC EPT.
If you select a p aid application, you may be as ked to sign in to your
Google Wallet account if i t’s your first time making a purch ase on
Google Play. Use the drop-down men u to select a payment method
or add a new card. Press ACCEP T to accept the permissions for the
app and complete your purcha se. If you’ve enabled a PIN code for
purchases, you’ll be asked to enter it a t this time.
5. You will receive a series of n otifications when downl oading the
application and then ins talling on your phone.
6. When the applicati on is installed, you can tap th e notification to open
the application, or open i t by tapping its icon in the Apps s creen.
