Connecting to Networks
Working with secure cer tificates
If your VPN or Wi-Fi network re lies on secure certif icates, you must
obtain the certifica tes and save them to your phone’s secure cre dential
storage before you can confi gure access to the VPN or Wi-Fi ne twork.
For specific instructio ns, contact your network admi nistrator.

Installing a secur e certificate fro m the microSD card

The installed certi ficate can be used to conne ct to a secured network.
1. Copy the cer tificate from your PC to the top level ( not folder) of the
microSD card.
(For inst ructions on how to connect you r phone to a PC and copy
files to the microSD card, see “C onnecting your phone to a PC vi a
USB” on page 99.)
2. From the Home screen, ta p the Menu key > Settings > Security.
3. Scroll the screen up, the n tap Install from storage.
Only the nam es of certificates not al ready installed on your ph one are
displayed.
4. Tap the file name of the certi ficate to install.
5. If prompted, enter the cer tificate’s password then tap OK.
6. Enter a name for the cer tificate then tap OK.
If you have not alrea dy set a password for your phone’s credenti al
storage, you will be prompted to enter an d confirm a password.
For securi ty purposes, the origi nal certificate will b e deleted from the
microSD card.
