Changing YouTube settings
1. From the YouTube home screen, tap th e Menu key > Settings.
2. Change the following set tings as necessary.
General
• High quality on m obile: Check if you prefe r to watch videos in
high-quality by defau lt when connected to mobile n etworks, to
reduce startup time an d data use.
• Captions font siz e: Opens a dialog where you c an set the text
size you prefer when viewing c aptions with your videos.
• Uploads: Opens a dialog which networ k preferences you can
upload.
• Content localization: Opens a dialog where you can set a
specific country o r region to prioritize chann els and videos.
• Improve YouTube: Check to help improve YouTube by sending
anonymous usage data.
Connected TVs
• Add a TV: Tap to pair your phone with your T V.
• Edit TVs: Tap to rename or remove your paired TVs.
Search
• Clear search history: Tap to clear your search history, so that
your previous searches w ill not be presented as sugge stions in
new searches.
• Never remember history: Check to never store YouTube search
history.
• SafeSearch filtering: Opens a dialog where you can set whet her
you want Google Safesearch™ filte ring to block some results
when you search for video s: Block no search resul ts (Don’t filter),
only explicit or offens ive videos (moderate) , or both explicit and
offensive text and vide os (strict).
Preloading
• Preload subscriptions: Check to cache the vide os from your
subscriptions.
