Using the WebUI
1. N avigate to the Configuration > Security > Authentication > Servers page.
2. Select Windows Server t o display the Windows Server List.
3. T o configurea Windows server, enter the name for the serverand click Add.
4. Select the name of the server to configure its parameters. Enter the parametersas described in Table 52.
5. Select the Mode checkbox to acti vate the authentication server.
6. Click A pplyto apply the configuration.
NOTE:The configurationdoes not take effect until you perform this step.

Managing the Internal Database
You can create entries in the controller’s internaldatabase, t o use to authenticate clients. The internal database
contains a list of clients along with the password and default role for each client. When you configuret he internal
database as an authentication server, client information in incoming authentication requests is checked against the
internaldatabase.

Configuring the Interna l Database

By default,the internal database in the master controller is used for authentication. You canchoo se to use the
internaldatabase i n a local controllerby enteringt he CLI command aaa authentication-server internal
use-local-switch.If you use the internaldat abasei n a localcontroller, you need to add clients on the local
controller.

Parameters Description

UserName (Required)Enter a user name or select Generate to automatically generate a user name. An
enteredusername can be up to 64 characters in length.
