Working with Interna l Database U tilities

The locali nternaldatabase also includes utilities to clear all users from thedatabase and to restart t hei nternal
database to repair internal errors.Under normal circumstances, neither of these utilities are necessary.

Deleting All U sers

Issue this command to remove users from the internaldatabase after you have moved your user database from the
controller’sinternal server to an external server.
1. N avigate to the Configuration > Security > Authentication > Servers page.
2. Select Intern al DB.
3. Click D elete All Users in the Internal DB Maintenance section. A po pupwi ndow open and asks you to confirm
that you want to remove all users.
4. Click O K.

Repairing the Internal Dat abase

Use this utility under the supervision of Dellt echnicalsupport to recreate the internal database. This may clear
internaldatabase errors, but also removes all information from the database. Make sure you export your current user
information before you start the repair procedure.
1. N avigate to the Configuration > Security > Authentication > Servers page.
2. Select Intern al DB.
3. Click Repair Database in t he Internal DB Maintenance secti on. A popup window open and asks you to confirm
that you want to recreate the database.
4. Click O K.
Configuring Serve r Groups
You can create
groups
of servers for specific types of authentication — for example, you can specify one or more
RADIUS servers to be used for8 02.1x authentication. Youcan configure servers of differentt ypes ino negroup —
for example,you can include the internaldatabase as a backup to a RA DIUS server.
