Provision the AP
You needto configure the VPN client settings on the AP to instruct the AP to use IPSec to connect to the
controller. You can provision t heremote A P and give it to users and allow remote users to provision A P at their
home. This method of provisioning is referred as Zero-touch provisioning. See "Provisioning 4G USB Modems on
Remote Access Points" on page 5 43 for more information about zero-touch provisioning of remote AP.
You must provision the AP before you install it at its remote location. To provision the AP ,t heA P must be
physically connectedt o the local networko rdirectly connected to the controller. When connected and powered on,
the AP must also be able to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server on the local networkor from the controller.
If your configuration has an internalLMS IP address, remote AP s may attempt to switch o vert o the LMS IP
address, which is not reachablefrom the Internet. For remote APs, ensure that the LMS IP address in the AP system
profilefor t he AP group has an externallyroutable IP address.
Reprovisioning the AP causes it to automatically reboot. Theeasi est way to provision anA P is to use the
Provisioning page in the WebUI, as described in the following steps:
1. Navigate t o the Configuration >Wireless >AP Installation >Provision ing page.Select the remote A P and
click Provision.
2. Under Authentication Method, select I PSec Parameters. Enter the Internet Key Exchange (IKE) Pre-Shared Key
(PSK), username,and password.
NOTE:The username and password you enter must match the username and password configured on the authentication serverfor
theremote AP
3. Under Master Disco very, set the Master IP Address as shown below:
