Enabling WPA Fast Han dover
In the 802.1x Authentication profile, the WPA fast handover featureallows certain WPA clients to usea pre-
authorized PMK, significantly reducing handoverinterruption. Check with the manufacturer of your handset to see if
this feature is supported.This feature is disabled by default.
NOTE:Thi sfeature supports WPA clients, while opportunistic key caching (also configured in the 802.1x Authenticationprofil e)
supportsWPA2 clients.
In the WebUI
1. Navigate to the Configuration > AP Configuration page. Select either AP Groupor AP Specific.
lIf you select AP Group, click Edit for the AP group name for which you want to enableWPA fast handover.
lIf you select AP Specific, select the name of the AP forwhich you want toenable WPA fast handover.
2. Under Profiles, select Wireless LAN, then select Virtual AP. I n the Virtual AP list, select the appropriate vi rtual
AP instance.
3. Select AAA profile. Select the 802.1x Authentication Profile to display in the Profile Details secti on.
4. Scroll down to select the WPA-Fast-Handover check box.
5. Click Apply.

For deployments wherethere are expected to be considerabledelays between the controller and APs (for example, in
a remote location where anA P is not in range of anotherD ellAP ) you can increaset hevalue for the bootstrap
thresholdin the AP Systemprofile to minimize t hechance of the AP reboot ingdue to t emporaryloss of
connectivity with the Dell controller.
Enabling Mobile IP H ome Agent A ssignment
Whenyou enable IP mobility ina mobility domain,the proxy mobile IP module determines the home agent for a
roamingc lient.An option related to voice clients that you can enable allowson-hook phones to be assigned a new
home agentt o load balancevoice client home agents across Dell controllers in the mobility domain. See IP Mobility
on page 492 for more information about mobility.
Scannin g for VoIP-Awa re ARM
ARM scanning on an AP duringa call affects the voice quality. You can pause the ARM scanning on the AP when a
calli s active by turning on the VoIP -Aware ARM Scanning support to avoid voice qualityissues.
You can uset heWebUI o rCLI to enableVoIP -awareA RM scanningin the AR Mprofile.
