Provisioning the AP
1. Navigate to the Configuration > Wireless > AP Ins tallation > Provisioning window.
2. Select the AP to provision asa remote mesh portal and click Provision. The Provisionin g window appears.
3. In the Authentication section, select the Remote AP radio button.
4. In the Remote AP Authentication Method sectio n of this window, select either Pre-shared Key or Certificate. I f
you selected Pre-SharedKey, enter and confirm the Internet Key ExchangePre-Shared Key (IKE PSK).
5. In the Master Discovery section, set the Master IP address as the controllerIP address.
6. In the IP settings section, select Obtain IP Address UsingDHCP.
7. In the AP List section, click the Mesh Role drop-down list and select Remote Mesh Portal.

Defining the Mesh Private VLAN
Edit the mesh radio profile for the remote mesh portal and choose a new, non-zero tag value for the mesh private
VLAN. Make suret hat the meshprivate VLA N so that it does not conflict with any local tags assigned in the mesh
network.o nce configured,all Mesh Points come up in t hat Mesh Private Vlan. This mesh private VLAN must not be
used as a VLAN for any other virtual AP.
1. Navigate to the Configuration > Wireless > AP Conf iguration window. Select either the AP Group or AP
Specific tab.
lIf you selected the AP Group tab, click the Edit button by the remote mesh portal AP group with the profile
you want to edit.
lIf you selected the AP Specific tab, click the Edit button by the remote mesh portal with the profileyo u
want to edit.
2. In the Profiles list, expandthe Meshmenu, then select Mesh radio profile.
3. In the Profile Details window pane, click the Mesh radio profile drop-down list and select the name of t he
profileyo u want to edit.
4. Set the Mesh Private VLAN parameterto define a VLAN ID (04094 ) for control traffic between an remote
mesh point and mesh nodes.
5. Click Apply to save your changes.
