Machine Authentication

Thetim eout, in hours, for machine authentication. The allowed range of values is 1-1000
hours,and the default value is 24 hours.

Selectthe Blackl iston Machi ne AuthenticationFailure checkbox to blacklist a client if
machine authentication fails. This setting is disabled by default
Intervalbetween Identity
Requests
Interval,in seconds, between identity request retries. The allowed range of values is 1-65535
seconds,and the default value is 30 seconds.
QuietPeri od after Failed
Authentication
Theenforced quiet period i nterval, in seconds, following failed authentication. The allowed
rangeof values is 1-65535 seconds,and the default value is 30 seconds.
ReauthenticationInterval Interval,in seconds, between reauthentication attempts. The allowed range of values for this
parameteri s 60-864000seconds, and the default value is 86400 seconds(1 day).

Selectthis option to override any user-defined reauthentication interval and use the
reauthenticationperiod defined by the authentication server.

Interval,in seconds, between mul ticastkey rotation. The allowed range of values for this

Interval
Interval,in seconds, between unicast key rotation. The allowed range of values for this
parameteri s 60-864000seconds, and the default value is 900 seconds.
AuthenticationServer Retry
Interval
Servergroup retry interval, in seconds. The all owed range of valuesfor this parameter is 5-
65535seconds, and the default value is 30seconds.
AuthenticationServer Retry
Count
Maximum number of authentication requeststhat are sent to servergroup.
Theal lowed range of values forthis parameter is 0-3 requests, and the default value is 2
requests.
FramedMTU Setsthe framed Maximum Transmi ssionUnit (MTU) attribute sent tothe authentication server.
Theal lowed range of values forthis parameter is 500-1500 bytes,and the default value is 1100
bytes.

Requestsare retried
Maximum number of times IDrequests are sent to the client. The allowed range of values for
thisparameter i s 1-10retries, and thedefault value is 3 retries.

ReauthenticationAttempts
Number oftim esa user can try to login with wrong credential safter which the user is
blacklistedas a security threat. Set to 0 to disable blacklisting, otherwise enter a value from 0-
5to blacklist the user after the specified number of failures.
NOTE:If changed from i tsdefault value, thismay require alicense Thi s option may require a
license.
Maximum number of times
HeldState can be bypassed
Number ofconsecutive authentication failures which, w hen reached, causesthe controller to
notrespond to authentication requests from a client while the controller is in a held state after
theauthentication failure. Before this number is reached, the controller responds to
authenticationrequests from the client even while the controller is in its held state.
(Thisparameter is appli cable when 802.1X authenticationi stermi natedon the controller, also
knownas AAA FastConnect.) The allowed r ange of values for this parameter is 0-3 failures,
andthe default value is 0.

is1-5 retries, and thedefault value is 3 retries.
