Configuring the Virtual AP Prof ile for Fallback Mode in the WebUI
To configure virtual AP profile:
nSet the remote AP operation to “always,” “backup,” or “persistent.”
nCreate andapply the applicable SSID profile.
The SSID profile for the backup configuration in always, backup,o r persistent mode must be a bridge SSID.
Whenconfiguring the virtual AP profile, specify forward mode as “bridge.”
The SSID profile for the backup configuration in standard mode can be a bridge, tunnel,or s plit tunnelSSID.
Whenconfiguring the virtual AP profile, specify forward mode as “bridge,” “tunnel,” or “split tunnel.”
NOTE:When cr eating a new virtual AP profile In the WebUI, youcan al soconfigure the SS IDat the same time. For information
aboutAP profil es, see "Understanding AP Configuration Profiles" on page 396.
1. Navigate to the Configuration > Wireless > AP Configuration page. Select either the AP Groupor AP Specific
tab. Click Edit forthe AP group or AP name.
2. UnderProfiles, select Wireless LAN, then Virtual AP.
3. To create a new virtual AP profile in the WebUI, select New from the Add a profile drop-down menu. Enter the
namefor t he virtual AP profile, and click Add.
NOTE:Whenever you create a new virtual AP profile i n theW ebUI,the profile automatical ly containsthe “default” SSID profile with
thedefault ESSID. You must configure a new ESSID and SSID profile for the virtual AP profile before you apply the profile.
a. In the Profile Details entry for the newvi rtualAP profile, go to the AAA Prof ile drop-downlist and select t he
previously configuredAAA profile (for example,“logon”). The AAA Profile pop-up window appears.
b. Toset the AAA profile and close the pop-up window, Click Apply.
c. In the Profile Details entry for the new virtualAP profile, select NEW from the SSID Profile drop-down
menu.The SSID Profile pop-up window displays to allow you to configurethe SSID profile.
d. Enterthe name for the SSID profile (for example,“backup”).
e. UnderNetwo rk,enter a name in t he Network Name (SSID) field (for example,“backup-psk”).
