Configuring a Sup ported USB Modem
If your USBModem is a validated modem, then no configuration is needed.Just follow the “plug and play”s teps
below.
1. Insert the USB Modeminto an open USB port.
2. Verify that the modem is detected (show usbcommand)

If your modemi s not recognized(such as “type is unknown”, “no matching profile”, or “device not ready”),use
the show usb verbosecommand to verify your modem is list ed.

3. Verify the modem is registered with the UplinkManager.

Cellularuplinks have a lowerpriority than wired links by default.Yo ucan change the default byc hangingthe
profile-specific priority or by changing the default cell priority.

4. Check themodem dialing status. The connection may take upto a 4 5 secondsto est ablish.To see the
connection progress,execute the show uplink connectionuplink id command.
5. Verify the connection is established andIP addressed is programmed.
