Troublesho oting Issues with A dobe Flash Pla yer 10.1o r Later
Removing focus fromt hebrowser window displaying the spectrum analysis dashboard may cause Adobe Flash 10.1
or laterto st opupdating the spectrum charts in orderto reduce CPU usage. When you restorefocus to the spectrum
analysis dashboard, you may see the spectrum charts update rapidly as the display catches up. Recorded data may be
inaccurate if you navigate away from the spectrum window during a recording. Flash10 .0 does not have this issue.
Understand ing Spectru m Analysis Syslog Messag es
The spectrumanalysis feature can sendfour different types of syslog messages:wifi add, wifi delete, non-wifi add,
and non-wifidelete. All messages are in the wireless category at the syslog severity level NOTICE.
The foursy slog message types appear in the following formats:
lAM: Spectrum:new wifi device found = [addr:%s] SSID = [ssid:%s] BSSID [bssid_str:%s] DE VICE ID
[did:%d]
lAM: Spectrum:deleting wifi device = [addr:%s] SSID = [ssid:%s] BSSID [bssid_st r:%s]D EVICE ID [did:%d]
lAM: Spectrum:new non-wifi device found = DEV ICE ID [did:%u] Type [dytpe:%s] Signal [sig:%u] Freq
[freq:%u]KHzBandwidth [bw:%u]KHz
lAM: Spectrum:deleting non-wifi device = DE VICE ID [did:%d] Type [dtype:%s]
Playing a Reco rding in the RFPlayback T ool
The DellPo werConnectW-RFPlayback tool is periodically updated to support improvementsto t heArubaOS
SpectrumAnalysis feature. The RFPlayback tool can play spectrum recordings created in the same version of
ArubaOSor earlier releases. If the RFPlayback tool cannot load a newerrecording, you may need to download a more
recent versiono ft het ool fromthe D ellwebsite.
Understand ing Device Ag eout Times
Each 802.11a and 802.11g radio profile references a spectrumprofile which defines the ageout times for each
monitored device type.Best practi cesare to keep these settings at their default valuesunless asked to do so by Dell
support.Changing the timers from their defaultvalues may affect classification accuracy and may resultin incorrect
and missed classifications.
Use the followingprocedure to edit a spectrum profile (under the supervision of Dells upport).
1. Navigate to the Configuration > Advanced Services > All Prof iles window.
2. Underthe Profiles list, expand the RF Management menu.
3. To edit a spectrum profile for a spectrummonit or’s8 02.11a radio band, expandthe 80 2.11a radio profile menu.
