This chapter outlinest hes teps requiredto configure voice and video services on the Dell co ntrollerfor Voice over

IP (VoIP) devices, includingSession Initiation Protoco l (SIP), SpectralinkVo ice Priority (SVP), H323 , SCCP,

Vocera, and AlcatelN OE phones,clients running Microsoft Office Communicator Server (OCS),and Apple devices

runningthe Facetime application. Since video and voic e applications are morevulnerable to delay and jitter, the

network infrastructuremust be able to priorit ize video and voice traffic over data t raffic.

The voice and video services require PEFNG licenses on the controller. For complete details on the required licenses,

see Software Licenses on page 100.

Configuring Voice an d Video

This section describes the steps required to set up and configure voice features on a Dell controller.To configure

voice features you must do the following:

1. Set up net services

2. Co nfigureroles

3. Co nfigurefirewall settings for voice and video ALGs

4. Co nfigureother parameters depending on the need and environment

NOTE:Assigning voice traffic to the high priority queue is recommended when deploying voice over WLAN networks.

Setting up Net S ervices

You can either use the default net services and ports or you can create or modify net services.
