User action/ environment VIA’s behavior

Thecl ient /user moves from a trusted to un-trusted
environment.
Example: From office toa publ ic hot-spot.
Auto-launchesand establishes connection to remote network.
Thecl ient movesfrom an un-trusted to a trusted
environment.
Auto-launchand stay idle. VIA does not establish remote
connection. You can, however, manually connect to a network
byselecting an appropriate connection profile from the
Settings
tab.
While in an un-trusted environment, user disconnectsthe
remoteconnection.
Disconnectsgracefully.
Usermoves to a trusted environment. Staysidle and does not connect.

userhas in a previous occasion disconnected a secure
connectionby cli cking theDisconnect button in VIA. Users can

1. Rightcl ick on the VIAicon i n thesystem tray and select the
Restoreoption and then select the Connect option to
connectusing the default connection profile.
2. Rightcl ick on the VIAicon i n thesystem tray and select the
Connectoption.
Userclicks the Reconnect button. Establishesremote connection.
Inan un-trusted environment, user restarts thesystem. Auto-launchesand establishes remote connection.
Inan un-trusted environment, user shuts down the
system.Moves to a trusted environment and restarts
system.
Auto-launchesand stays idle.

Users can download VIA from a URL provided to them by their IT department and install it on their computers.

On Microsoft Windows Computers

1. D ownload the installer(
ansetup.msior ansetup64.msi
) fromt heUR L providedby the IT department.
2. D oubleclick the installer file and follow the defaultprompts.
3. A ftert hei nstallationi s complete,t heuser will be prompted to enter the following:
a. Remoteserver URL—This should be provided by t he IT department.T he administrator can also provision
the URL on the controller.In such cases, the user is required to specify only the username andpassword.
b. Username—The users domain user name.
c. Password—Theusers domain password.
4. Click t he Connect button to initiate a secure VIA connection. VIA will minimized to system tray after
establishing the secureconnectio n.

On Apple MacBooks

1. D ownload the installer(
