4. Select Snoopingto save bandwidth and limit the sending of multicast framesto only those nodes that need to
receive them.
5. Select theIn terface checkbox, thenclick theProxy drop-down list and select the controller interface, port and
slot for which you want to enable proxy IGMP.
6. Click Apply to apply your changes.
7. (Optional)R epeat steps 1-6 above to c onfiguremobility multicast for another VLAN interface.
In the CLI
The followingcommand enables IGMP and/or IGMP snooping on this interface, or configures a VLAN interface for
uninterruptedstreaming of multicast traffic.
interface vlan <vlan>
ip igmp proxy [{fastethernet|gigabitethernet} <slot>/<port>]|[snooping]
Parameter Description
fastethernet Enable IGMPproxy on the FastEthernet (IEEE802.3) interface
gigabitethernet Enable IGMPproxy on the GigabitEthernet (IEEE 802.3)interface
<slot>/<port>
<slot>/<-
module>/<port> (W-
7200 Seriesonly)
Anycommand thatreferences a Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet interface requires that
youspecify the corresponding port on the controller in the format <slot>/<port>.
<slot>is alw ays1, except when referring to interfaces on the W-6000M3 controller(slots
0-3).
The<port> parameter refers to the network interfaces thatare embedded i n thefront
panel ofthe W-3000 Series controller, or a W-6000M3 controller module. Port numbers
startat 0 from the left-most position.
TheW- 7200Series Dell controllers use a <slot>/<module>/<port> port numbering
scheme. <slot>and <m odule> will always be 0 on the W-7200 Series.
snooping Enable IGMPsnooping.
TheIGMP protocol enables an router to discover the presence of multicast listeners on
directly-attachedlinks. Enable IGMP snooping to lim it thesending of mul ticastframes to
onlythose nodes that need to receive them.
