Parameter Description
the2.4 GHz radio band.
Channel Numbering Forspectrum moni torsusing the5 GHz radio band, selectei ther 20MHz or40 MHz channel
numbering to identifya channel numbering scheme for the graph.
NOTE:Thi s parameter is not configurable for graphs created by hybrid APs or spectrum moni tor
radiosthat use the 2.4 GHz radio band. A hybrid AP on a 20 MHz channel sees 40MHz Wi -Fi dataas
non-Wi-Fi data.
Channel Range Forgraphs created by spectrum monitors, specify a channel range to determine which channels
appeari n thisgraph. Click the firstdrop-dow n list toselect the lowest channel in the range, then
click thesecond drop-down l istto select the highest channel to appear in the graph.
Bydefault, this graph d>isplays all channels within the spectrum monitor’s radio band.
NOTE:Thi s parameter is not configurable for graphs created by hybrid APs.
DisplayMode SelectC hannel Quality to show the relative quality of the channel. Channel Quality is a weighted
metric derived from keyparameters which i nclude noise, non-Wi-Fi (interferer) utilization and duty-
cycles,and certain types of retries.
SelectC hannel Availability to show the percentage of the channel thati s unusedand avail able for
additional Wi-Fi traffic.
SelectC hannel Utilization to show both the percentageof the channel that is currently utilized by
Wi-Fi devices, and the percentageof each channel that is being utili zed by non-802.11devices or
802.11adjacent channel interference (ACI).
Channel Metrics Trend
By default, this line chart shows the current relative quality of selected channelsin the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz radio
bands over a period of time. The Channel Metrics Trend chart can also be configured to display trends for the
currentavailability of selected channels, or the percentageo f availability for those channels.Spectrummonitors can
display data for up to five different channels. HybridA Ps display data for their one monitored channel only.
NOTE:For more i nformation on how the spectrumanal ysisfeature determines the quality of a channel, see "Channel Me trics"on
page588.
Whenyou hover yo urmouse o ver any line in the chart, a tooltip displays channel quality or availability data for t hat
individual channelat the s electedt ime.
