Provisioning the Bra nch Office AP
You can provision the remote AP either using the controlleror using the zero-touch provisioning method. For more
information on controllerprovisi oning,s ee "Provisioning Installed APs" on page 409. For more information on zero-

Configuring th e Branch Office AP
lSpecify forwardmode for the Extended Service Set Identifier (ESSID) in the virtual AP profile
lSpecify remoteA P operationi nthe virtual AP profile (by default,the remote AP operates in standardmode)
lSet how longt heA P stays up after connectivity to controller has gone down in the SSID profile
lSet the VLAN ID in the virtual AP profile
lSet the native VLAN ID in the AP sys tem profile
lSet forwardmode for enet1 port
NOTE:Rem oteAPs support 802.1q VLAN tagging. Data from the remote AP will be tagged on the wired side.

Local Debugging

Local Debuggingi s A WebUI feature that allows endusers to perform diagnostics and view t hest atus of their
remote AP through a wired or wireless client. This feature is useful for troubleshooting connectivity problems on
remote AP and to performing throughputtests. There are three tabs in the Local Debugging WebUI window,
Summary,Connectivity and Diagnostics. Each tab displays different information for the AP , but all threet abs
includea G enerate & save support file link that, when clicked, will automatically generate a support.tgz filet hat can
be sent to a corporate IT department for additio nalanalysis anddebugging.
NOTE:Starting from Dell PowerConnectW -Series ArubaOS 6.2, snapshotof the bridge, acl, session, user, and arp tables, current
processes,memory, and kernel debug m essagesare captured in a single rap_debug.txt file whi ch is bundled along with support.tgz
file.
