9.4.2 Configuration Commands
9.4.2.1 ip multicast
This command sets the ad ministrative mode of the IP multicast forwa rd er in the router to active. For
multicast routing to become operational, IGMP must be currently enabled. An error message will be
displayed on the CLI if multicast routing is enabled while IGMP is disabled. However, the IP multicast
mode configuration is stored in the multicast configuration file and is automatically enabl ed once IGMP is
enabled.
Syntax
ip multicast
no ip multicast

9.4.2.2 ip mcast boundary
This command adds an ad ministrative scope multicast boundary specified by <groupip addr> and
<mask> for which this multicast administrative boundary is appli cable. <groupipaddr> is a group IP
address and <mask> is a group IP mask.
Syntax
ip mcast boundary <groupipaddr> <mask>
no ip mcast boundary <gro upipaddr> <mask>
<groupipaddr> - the multicast gro up add ress for the st art of the range of addresses to be excluded.
The address must be in the range of 239.0.0.0 throu gh 239.255.255.255.
<mask> - mask to be applied to the multicast group address.
