Chapter 7 - Maintenance

Caution: Co nfirm t hat the exter nal power sour ce is 100-240 VAC befor e
st art ing the o peration. To prevent e lectrical sho ck, confir m that the AC ca ble
is removed from the AC out let anytime the co vers are r emoved. Be sure t o
obs erve al l E SD pr ecautions and power OFF pro cedures.
7.1 Periodic Maintenance
Only trained personnel must perfor m t he follow ing :
Vacuu m all vent ilatio n pas sageways on t he co nt ro l unit and perip herals. Ensure that these
passageways are open and free of dust and other debr is t hat could rest r ict airflo w.
Check the Power Supply Unit fan for prope r operation annually. See BI OS setting s for t yp ica l
fan speeds. I f fan spe ed is appro aching the low end, t he fan sho uld be rep laced. Fan speeds ca n
be found under the hardware mo nitoring s ection of the BIOS. Replace lead ac id batteries ever y
t hree years. I f the model DT50II I has t he MICR opt ion, check t he function of, and clean the
MICR after every 6000 checks.
7.1.1 Power ON and OFF Sequence
This section prese nt s the general pr ocedures fo r powering ON and po wering OFF the TeamPoS
3000 control unit . T he instructio ns in this section assu me that the t erminal, oper ating system and
t he app lication softwar e have bee n inst alled. For any additio nal power-up procedures dictat ed by
the reta il a ppl ic ation, refer t o t he manuals provided wit h t he application so ftwar e.
Caution: With the exception of USB periph eral s, n eve r disconn ect or
connect a periphera l while power is on its port. To avo id damage to t he
control unit and perip herals, when c onn ec ting a nd disconnect ing RS232
perip herals from the Boar ds, tur n power OFF with the port s OFF swit ch (see
sect io n 1.2), the Tea mPo S 3000 po wer switch in the front of t he unit o r by
d isconnecting AC power .
