Enable Menus

Use Enable menus to enable (Yes) or disable (No) each interface. The LocalTalk, RS232, and parallel interfaces are enabled as factory defaults. Factory defaults for the Ethernet interface are enabled for EtherTalk and LPR and disabled for Novell Print Server.

Mode Menus

Use Mode menus to select the printer mode for files sent across each interface. RS232 and parallel Mode menus allow you to select from the following options:

PostScript Standard (PS STD)

PostScript Binary (PS BIN)

PostScript Tagged Binary Communication Protocol (PS TBCP),

HPGL (HP-GL) emulation

HP PCL5e (PCL5) emulation

Automatic Interface Switching (AIS RAW)

Automatic Interface Switching Binary (AIS BIN)

Automatic Interface Switching Tagged Binary Communication Protocol (AIS TBCP).

The LocalTalk, EtherTalk, LPR, and Novell Print Server are set for the PostScript Standard (PS STD) printer mode. PS STD is the factory default for all interfaces except parallel, which is set to PS TBCP.
