Configuring an
802.1X Wireless
Service
The 802.1X Service Profile wizard requires you to select one or more
RADIUS server groups and does not allow you to complete the
configuration without selecting one. To be available for selection in the
wizard, a RADIUS server group must already be configured before you
open the wizard. (See “Viewing and Configuring RADIUS Settings” on
page 298.)
1Access the 802.1X Service Profile wizard:
aIn the Organizer panel, click on the plus sign next to the WX sw itch on
which you want to configure the service profile.
bClick on the plus sign next to Wireless.
cSelect Wireless Services.
dIn the Task List panel, select 802.1X Service Profile.
2Read the description of the wizard on the first page, then click Next.
3Edit the service name in the Name box.
Editing the name is optional if this is the first service of this type you are
configuring on the switch.
4Type the SSID name in the SSID box.
5Click Next.
6Select the security modes you want the SSID to support. You can select
one or more of the following:
RSN (WPA2)
WPA
Dynamic WEP
7Click Next.
8If you selected RSN or WPA in step6, select the encryption algorithms to
use. Otherwise, go to step 11.
AES (CCMP)—Usually used with RSN (WPA2)
TKIP—Usually used with WPA
WEP-104—Used with dynamic WEP
WEP-40—Used with dynamic WEP
9Click Next.
