Installing. the Control Unit

Follow these steps to replace a module:

1.Busy-out or reset the module. (Busy-out is recommended.)

2.Label all cords (if they haven’t been labeled already) and then unplug them from the module.

For information on labeling trunk and extension cords, see Chapters 3 and 4.

For instructions on checking poorly labeled wiring, see “Checking Poorly Labeled Wiring” in Chapter 3.

3.Run a demand test by entering the test mode.

4.Remove the module as described previously, under “Removing a Module.”

5.Inspect the module for visible damage.

6.Insert the new module as shown in Figure 2-14.

7.Restore the module as described in Chapter 7.

8.Plug-in the trunk and extension cords.

9.Attach a tag, error printout, and any information that will help identify any visible problems or failure symptoms.
