Configuration Overview

You play a key role in how your server allocates resources to organi interconnect hardware devices and software programs. This allocation proc

referred ctonfigurationas . The steps required to configure your server dep the number and types of devices and programs that you install.

Your server supports several types of adapters. Because of this flex choose from among thousands of adapters and devices that comply with following standards:

Architecture

(ISA)

ŸSmall Computer System Interface (SCSI)

In general,

system.

Your server comes with the following hardware configuration utility prog

ŸConfiguration/Setup Utility

With the built-in Configuration/Setup Utility program, you can configure system-board functions, such as serial and parallel port assignments; c

this

utility program to set passwords for

the server

and

accessing

the

Configuration/Setup Utility program.

ŸSCSISelect Utility

With the built-in SCSISelect Utility program, you can configure the SC devices that you install in your server. You can use SCSISelect to default values, resolve configuration conflicts, and perform a low-level a SCSI hard disk drive.

Before installing
