The IBM Netfinity 5000 server is designed to be cost effective, power flexible. Your server offers:

Ÿ Impressive performance using an innovative approach to SMP

The Netfinity 5000 server supports up to two Pentium II microprocesso server comes with one Pentium II microprocessor installed on the sys board. You can install a second microprocessor in your server to enh performance and provide SMP capability.

ŸLarge system memory

The	memory	subsystem	in your	server	1
					supports ofup systemto1 GBmemory.
The	memory	controller	provides	error	correcting code (ECC) support for
MHz	SDRAM memory.

ŸIntegrated network environment support

Your server supports various network environments. Your Netfinity 5000 se comes with a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller on the system board. This Ethernet controller has an interface for connecting to 10-Mbps or 100-Mb networks. The server automatically selects between 10BASE-T and

100BASE-TX. The controller provides full-duplex (FDX) capability. Full duple allows simultaneous transmission and reception of data on the Ethernet area network (LAN).

ŸRedundant network interface card

The addition of an optional, redundant network interface card (NIC) failover capability to a redundant Ethernet connection. If a problem the primary Ethernet connection, all Ethernet traffic associated with connection is automatically switched to the redundant NIC. This switch occurs without data loss and without user intervention.

ŸRedundant power capabilities

The 350-watt power supply in your server provides redundant power. I server load is less than 175 watts and a problem occurs with one o

modules		in	the		power supply,			the	other module	takes	over the load.

Your Netfinity 5000 server is shipped with a Netfinity Advanced Syste Management Processor on the system board. This processor, in conjunctio with the Netfinity Manager provided on your ServerGuide CDs, allows y manage the functions of the Netfinity 5000 server locally and remotely Advanced System Management processor also provides system monitoring, event recording, and dial-out alert capability.

		Note: The	Advanced	System		Management processor is sometimes referred
