Priority Transmit

What is it?

Priority transmit is a feature of the fax machine. Priority transmit “interrupts” a fax transmission from memory to allow a document to be sent from the manual feeder. Once the manual transmission is complete, the memory transmission will resume.

Example of Priority Transmit

Your fax machine is performing a broadcast transmission. The broadcast is going to twelve different locations. It has completed the transmissions to the first three locations, and is just starting on the fourth. You need to fax a signed approval document immediately. You walk up to the fax machine, load the document into the feeder, select the location to send the fax to, and press the Start key (if necessary). The fax machine will complete the broadcast transmission to the fourth location, send your “walk-up” fax, and then resume the broadcast transmission with the fifth location.
