Using Your Fax with Your Computer

General Information

Connect to Your Computer

By installing the Multifunction Printer Option (MFP), you may connect your fax machine to your computer, allowing you to work using both machines. You may use your fax machine as a scanner or printer. Incoming faxes may be saved directly to your computer’s hard drive.

For information on installing and using the MFP Option, refer to the documentation provided with the option.

Refer to the “Setting Basic Features, Answering Mode, Answering Mode Options, PC Mode [PC]” section of this document for information on setting the answering mode of your fax machine to work with the MFP Option.

Refer to the “Setting Basic Features, Incoming Call Parameters, PC/Fax Switch (MFP Option)” section of this document for information on saving incoming faxes directly to your computer’s disk without being printed.

1Make sure that both the computer and the fax machine are turned off.

2Connect the end of the interface cable to your computer. Tighten the screws to secure it.

3Connect the other end of the cable to the fax machine. Fasten the cable in place with the wire clips.
