Terms you should know

Enter key

The center key of the Navigation Cluster key is used to select menu items and to confirm changes. The Enter key duplicates the function of the context-sensitive soft keys Select, and Set.

Expansion Module

The Expansion Module is a hardware accessory that connects to the IP Deskphone and provides additional line appearances and feature keys. A maximum of three modules are supported. The Avaya 1120E/1121E IP Deskphone and

Avaya 1140E IP Deskphone can have up to 54 additional line/ feature keys with three Expansion Modules.

Feature Status Indicator

This refer to an LCD or an LED signal that indicates a data message, contact, or feature status by a flash, wink, steady on, or off.

Fixed keys

These are the hard-labeled keys of the IP Deskphone that have a specific function.

Goodbye key

This is the fixed key used to end an active call or exit an active menu.

Handsfree key

This is the fixed key used to activate Handsfree.

Hold key

This is the fixed key used to place an active call on hold.

IM (Instant Message)

You can use IMs to send a text message to a specific user. The user must be logged on to receive the IM.
