letterhead or prepunched paper, in the input tray using the same orientation regardless of whether the stapling feature is enabled or an external accessory is attached. The user can also load paper consistently across multiple products that may be installed and configured with different external accessories.

The Alternate setting is also available for when the user does not want the product to rotate the image. This setting may be appropriate for aligning a preprinted form that was originally used with a legacy product. With this option, asymmetrical paper may need to be loaded differently for stapled jobs than for non-stapled jobs.
