The TransmitDelay setting defines the amount of time the printer must wait before trans-
mitting meaningfulinfrared data to the host computer, as well as the amount of time the
printer requests the host computer to wait beforeit transmits infrared data.
Select Auto to let the printer automatically set the TransmitDelay val ue during a power o n
resetto maximizelink performance.
Inmost cases,Au to is the recommended setting. If youhave trouble printing using the
infraredpor t, selecting a high TransmitDelay setting, such as 15, may resolve the problem.

Themaximum baud rate possible for both the printer and the infrared adapter is automatically
setdur ing a poweron reset. However, if your printer is situated in a bright or highly reflective
environment,you may experience intermittent communication problems. If you do, select a
lowerbaud rate for the infrared connection.
