Transparencies
Youcan feed transparencies from the 250-sheet input tray
or the multipurpose feeder.Try a sample of any transpar-
encies you areconsidering using with the printer before
buying largequantities.
Do not load transparenciesin the optional 500-sheet
drawer.To load transparencies in the 250-sheet input tray,
see page 124. Toload transparencies in the multipurpose
feeder,see page 141.
Warning! Whenprinting on
transparencies, be sure to set
the PAPER TYPE to Transpar-
ency from the printer driver,and
fromeither the operator panel or
from MarkVision to avoiddam-
aging your printer.
When printing on transparencies:
Use transparenciesdesigned specifically for laser
printers. Transparenciesmust be able to withstand
temperaturesof 175°C(347°F)without melting, dis-
coloring or releasinghazardous emissions.
Toprevent print quality problems, avoid getting fin-
gerprints on the transparencies.
Beforeloading transparencies, fan the stack to pre-
vent sheets fromsticking together.
Envelopes
Youcan load up to 10 envelopes in the multipurpose
feeder.Try a sample of any envelopes you are considering
using with the printer beforebuying large quantities. See
page 141 for loading instructions.
Note: When printing on enve-
lopes, be sure to set the PAPE R
SOURCE to MP Feeder or
ManualEnv,setthePAPERTYPE
to Envelope,and select the cor-
rect envelopesize from the
printerdriver, and from either the
operator panel or from
MarkVision.
When printing on envelopes:
Use envelopes made from75 to 105 g/m2(20 to
28 lb) bond paper.For best performance and fewer
paper jams, do not use envelopes that:
Have excessive curl.
Arestuck together.
Aredamaged in any way.
Containwindows,holes,perforations,cutoutsor
embossing.
Use metal clasps, string ties, or metal folding
bars.
Have postage stamps attached.
Have any exposed adhesive when the flap is in
the sealed or closed position.
