Chapter 11: Memory and Option Cards
Understanding
Memory Options Because the steps requiredto install a printer memory
option and a flash memory option cardare the same, they
aregrouped together in this section. Details about the two
option cardsfollow.

Printer Memory

The printer memory option increasesthe printer sync
dynamic random access memory (SDRAM). Additional
printer memory allows the printer to print complex jobs
and operate moreefficiently.
Warning! Datastored in printer
memory is lost when the printer
is unplugged.
Yourprinter has 4MB of standard printer memory. You
can purchaseprinter memory cardshaving 4MB, 8MB,
16MB, 32MB, and 64MB of memory.You can install up to
two optional printer memory cardsin your printer, for a
total of up to 132MB of SDRAM.

Flash Memory

The flash memory option is useful for storing information
such as downloaded fonts, macros,symbol sets, logos,
andforms.UseyourprinterdriverortheMarkVision
utility to download resourcesto flash memory.
Note: Data stored in flash
memory is retained when the
printer is unplugged.
Youcan install one flash memory option in your printer.
Flash memory options available are2, 4, 8, and 16MB.
