Print Material Guidelines
Uselabels that can withstand temperatures of 205°C
(401°F) without sealing, excessive curling, wrin-
kling, or releasinghazardous emissions.
Do not print within 1 mm (0.040 in.) of the edge of
the label, of the perforations, or between die-cuts of
the label.
Do not use label sheets that have adhesive to the
edge of the sheet. Werecommend zone coating of
theadhesiveatleast1mm(0.040in.)awayfrom
edges. Adhesive material will contaminate your
printerandcouldvoidyourwarranty.
If zone coating of the adhesive is not possible, a
3 mm (0.125 in.) strip should be removedon the
leadingand driver edge, and a non-oozing adhesive
should be used.
Remove a 3 mm (0.125 in.) strip fromthe leading
edge to preventlabels from peeling inside the
printer.
Portrait orientation is preferred,especially when
printing bar codes.
Do not use labels that have exposed adhesive.
Youmay feed vinyl labels from the 250-sheet input
tray and the multipurpose feeder.
After continuously printing approximately10,000 pages
of labels (or each time you replacethe print cartridge),
complete the following steps to maintain printer feeding
reliability:
1Print 5 sheets of paper.
2Waitapproximately 5 seconds.
3Print 5 more sheets of paper.
