The Fax Parity setting lets you select the parity for faxdata frames.
Even Theportexpectstoreceivedataframeswithanevennumberoflogical1’sper
byte.The por t transmits XOFF and XON with evenparity. If the port detects a
parity error,it sends an inverted question mark to the printer instead of the
charactersent by the host system.
Odd Theportexpectstoreceivedataframeswithanoddnumberoflogical1’sperbyte.
Thepr inter transmitsX OFFa nd XONwith odd par ity.If the printer detects a parity
error,it sends X'5F' to the printer instead of the character sent by the host system.
None The port expects no parity bit when it receives data. The port transmits XON and
XOFF without parity bits.
Ignore The port expects a parity bit when it receives a data frame.The por t ignores the
parity bit and uses evenparity when it transmits XON and XOFF.

Youcan configure the size of the fax input buffer to meet the requirements of your system. If
the limited sizeof the input buffer is preventing you from receiving fax data, you may want to
increaset he faxbuffer size.
Themaximum size depends on the amount of memory in your printer, the size of the other link
buffersand whether the Resource Save setting is set to On or Off. To maximize the range for
the faxbuffer size, you can disable or reduce the size of the parallel, infrared, LocalTalk,and
USB buffers.
Choose Auto to let the printer calculate a buffer size proportional to the total amount of
availableprinter memory. In most cases, Auto is the recommended setting.
Note: Changing the Fax Buffer setting automatically resets the printer.
