Tri-PortInterfaceOption CardThe Tri-Portinterface option card lets you connect to:
•A LocalTalknetwork
•Serial interface (RS-232C or Serial RS-422A)
•An infraredadapter

An infraredadapter receives an infrared beam that allows
you to print remotelyto an IrDA-compatible computer.

Installing the Tri-PortInterface Option Card

Hard Disk OptionLike the flash memory option, the harddisk option is use-
ful for storing information such as downloaded fonts,
macros,and symbol sets.
Note: Data stored on the hard
disk option is kept in memory
when the printer is turned off.
Youcan also use the hard disk option to store incoming
print jobs in a bufferuntil they print. Since harddisk
memory providespermanent storage, job buffering to the
harddiskpreventsthelossofprintjobdataiftheprinter
loses power.It may also free your application faster for
other work. Job bufferingis only available for jobs trans-
mitted acrossthe standard parallel and USB interface.
