CHAPTER 2 Telephone Operations
The NexPath TelephonyServer allows operations such as placing calls on hold, transferring a call, and set-
ting up conference calls to be controlled from any telephone connected to the system. This chapter describes
the operations available and how to controlthem. Note, though, that all of the operations described in this
chapter can also be performed from a Windows 95/98/NT computer if the computer is connected to the Nex-
Path TelephonyServer through a TCP/IP network connection, and the program NexDial is installed. Some
operations are also available from NexDirector. Also, Windowsand non-Windows machines connected to
the network and running Netscape Navigator 3.03 (and certain subsequentversions) can run Te lO per,a
web-based desktop call controlprogram. See CHAPTER 4:Windows Desktop Tools-NexPath Dialer starting
on page 65 and CHAPTER 5:WindowsDesktop Tools- NexPath Call Director starting on page 93 for details.
Also, all voice mail operations can be performed from either at elephoneor a computer. However, the key
sequences described in this chapterfor call control from a telephone will be unavailable while you are
