Problem Action
MenusDisabled status message
appears ont he display. The operatorpanel menus are disabled. To enable the menus:
Turnthe printer power Off (O).
Press andhold Select and Return , and thentur n the printer power On (|).
Release the buttonswhen Performing Self Test displays.
Oncethe pr inter finishes powering on, the CONFIGMENU displays.
PressMenu> until Panel Menus displays on the second line. Press Select.
PressMenu> until Enable displays on the second line. Press Select.
TheSaved message briefly appears a nd then, the EnablingMenus displays.
TheCONFIG MENU displays again with Pa nel Menu on the second line.
PressMenu> until Exit Config Menu displays on the second line. Press
Select.
ActivatingMenu Changes briefly appears, and then Performing Self Test
briefly appears. The printer returns to the Ready state.
Ifthe operator panel menus are password protected, see your system adminis-
trator.
Displayshows only diamonds or is
blank. Turnthe pr inter powerOff (O), wait about 10 seconds, and turn the pr inter
powerOn (|).
ThePerforming Self Test message appears on the operator panel display.
When the testi scompleted, the Ready message displays.
Ifthe m essages do not display,turn the printer power Off (O) and call Lexmark
Customer Support Center.
Menusettings changed from the
operatorpanel have no effect. Settings in the softwareapplication, the pr interdr iver,or the printer utilities are
overridingthe settings in the operator panel.
Change the menusettings from the pr inter driver,the printer utilities, or the
softwareapplication instead of the operator panel.
Disablethe settings in the printer dr iver,the printer utilities, or the software
applicationso you can change settings from the operator panel.
