Adapter
Youcan use an infrared adapter to print remotely to an
IrDA-compatible computer equipped with an infrared
port.
The Tri-Portinterface option card, which includes an
infraredport, lets you connect the infrared adapter to your
printer.For more information, see “Tri-Port Interface
Option Card”onpage 212. If you need to install the Tri-
Portinterface option card, see “Installing an Option Card”
on page 216.
After you install the Tri-Portinterface option card, com-
pletethe following steps to connect the infrared adapter to
your printer.

Toconnect the infrared adapter to your printer:
1Unplug the printer power cord.
2Locate the infrared port on the back of your
printer.
Theinfrared port is attached to the Tri-Port interface
option cardinstalled in your printer.
