FAX/TEL switching

This option allows you to set the MultiPASS C50 to automatically detect whether a call is from a fax or telephone. If the call is from another fax, the transmission is automatically received. If the call is from a telephone, the MultiPASS C50 rings to let you know, so you can pick up the handset. With this feature, one telephone line can be shared by both the telephone and the fax.

Form feed

A printer function that automatically ejects the current page and advances the printer to the top of the next page.

G

G3, Group 3 fax machine

De®ned by CCITT. Uses encoding schemes to transmit image data while reducing the amount of data that needs to be transmitted, thus reducing transmission time. G3 fax machines can transmit one page in less than one minute. Encoding schemes for G3 fax machines are Modi®ed Huffman (MH), Modi®ed READ (MR), and Modi®ed Modi®ed READ (MMR).

Graphic

A written, printed, or electronically displayed symbol or drawing. Also characters or text that have been generated by a computer graphics application program.

Greyscale

Representing colour in black and white as a result of different intensities of colour. Different colours and intensities of colours appear as different shades of grey.

Group dialling

A dialling method that enables you to dial up to 55 registered one-touch speed dialling or coded speed dialling numbers together as a group. This means that you can press just one or three buttons to enter numbers when sending the same document to many destinations.
