	Troubleshooting

Problem	Check Items

The paper is fed out but	• Is the machine out of toner?
nothing is printed.	• Is the document on the sending side loaded
	correctly?

Paper jams occur	• Is the Paper Tray adjusted for the correct paper
frequently.	size? See “Adjusting the Paper Tray”.
	• Is the Paper Tray fully closed?
	• Does the document fall within specifications? See
	the User’s Guide, “Document Specifications”.
	• Is the Right Side Cover fully closed?

Machine answers incoming	• If Refuse Junk Mail is On the machine will only
call but will not receive.	receive for other machines listed in your dial
	directory phonebook.

Image Quality

If the Document Scanner or Recording Unit is dirty, the quality of your transmitted or received images can be poor. It is recommended that these areas are cleaned regularly. Refer to “Maintaining the Machine” for detailed cleaning procedures.

Problems with envelopes

If you experience feeding problems where the pre-stuck end of envelopes becoming folded back during printing check that the envelope is gummed completely.

Communications failure

With the H/N model, if a second line is not plugged in and you try to send group jobs you will get a comms failure as line 2 is not plugged in.

Set line 2 to 'receive only'.
