Reset passwords
Follow the steps in Procedure 53 when a user forgets their password.
Procedure 53
Reset forgotten passwords
1The administrator can reset any BUI password through the user management BUI. One administrator can also reset another administrator’s password.
2When an administrator forget’s their BUI password, and there is no other administrator, the password can be reset from the CLI by entering the following command:
PAdmin/ABreset (or abbreviated pa/ab)
The system resets all administrator passwords, if more than one exist.
3When system passwords are forgotten (that is, Telnet, FTP, and CLI first level), the passwords can be viewed from the second level of the CLI.
4When the second level CLI password is forgotten, perform the following steps.
a Connect a CRT (or terminal emulation on a PC) directly to the back of the card’s serial port.
b Perform a manual
iPull the card out of the slot.
iiPlug the card back into the shelf.
