Procedure 40

Restore the database from the secondary PCMCIA

1Insert the PCMCIA device holding the backed-up database in the ICB card’s upper slot.

2Use the CLI REstordb command in the SMaint directory.

The system prompts you for the source of the restore.

3Select upper socket and press the Enter key.

The system restores the database.

This procedure is now complete

Use Procedure 41 to restore the database from a backed-up ZIP file.

Procedure 41

Restore the database from a backed up ZIP file

1Determine which backed-up ZIP files to restore.

2Name this file on the file server ICBDATA.ZIP.

3Run the REstordb command with the parameter indicating this is a restore following an FTP download.

The system prompts for the source.

4Select FTP.

The system prompts for the following parameters: IP address, path to file, login, and password.

5Enter the information as appropriate and press the Enter key.

The system restores the data.

This procedure is now complete

During the restore process the card disables itself and does not answer calls. It also does not accept changes from the BUI.

Backup and restore process log

The backup process sends messages to the CLI window. The messages can be viewed while the process is running by accessing the CLI.
