Telephone Safety

The mailing system base and detachable IntelliLink Control Center connect directly to an analog telephone line. For your protection, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

Disconnect the telephone cord from the wall before removing the User Interface.

Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool.

Avoid using a telephone or equipment that connects to a telephone line during an electrical storm. There may be a remote risk of electrical shock from lightning.

Do not use the telephone or equipment connected to the telephone line to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.

Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.

CAUTION! To reduce the risk of fire, use only 26 AWG or smaller telecommunication line cord either supplied with the system or acquired separately.
