Chapter 4 Operational Concepts and Configuration Examples

The following is the configuration procedure for the X330WAN, as shown in Figure 4.6:

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super)# interface Loopback 1

Done!

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super-if:Loopback1)# ip address 10.10.10.10 32

The Primary management interface has changed. Please copy the running configuration to the start-up configuration file, and reset the WAN router.

Done!

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super-if:Loopback1)# exit

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super)#copy running-config startup-config

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super)# reset

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super)# controller e1 1

Done!

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super-controller:1)# channel-group 1 timeslots 1-5Done!

X330WAN-2DS1-1(super-controller:1)# exit

Backup Interfaces

A Backup interface is activated when the Primary interface fails and is deactivated when the Primary interface is restored. You can configure Backup relations between a pair of any Layer 2 Serial interfaces. A PPP session, Frame Relay interface, and Frame Relay Sub-interface can serve as a Backup interface to any other Serial interface on a module level, including interfaces on different Serial ports.
