Con®guring the Host Attachments
This procedure lets you view, print, or change the con®guration settings of an installed attachment.
Note: The printer can have multiple sets of con®guration data: one for each mode in which the printer can operate. To update a con®guration for a particular mode, the printer must be running in that mode (for example, Duplex mode).
The following host attachments are available:
vParallel Channel
vESCON Channel
vToken Ring TCP/IP
vEthernet TCP/IP
vFDDI TCP/IP (for Models ED1/ED2 only)
Before you change a con®guration value, please review the con®guration information table for the attachment con®guration you are changing:
vªParallel Channel Con®guration Informationº on page 232
vªESCON Channel Con®guration Informationº on page 234
vªToken Ring TCP/IP Attachment Informationº on page 235
vªEthernet TCP/IP Attachment Informationº on page 237
vªFDDI TCP/IP Attachment Informationº on page 239
1.Before you print the attachment con®guration, ensure that all attachments are disabled. See ªEnabling and Disabling Attachmentsº on page 63 for more information. You do not need to disable attachments if you are viewing or changing the con®guration.
2.To access the con®guration settings, do one of the following:
v In duplex mode, SELECT the Con®gure
v In dual simplex mode, SELECT the Con®gure
3.SELECT the Con®gure Attachments procedure. You see the Con®gure Attachments window. This window lists the attachments that are currently installed. It also lists the attachments that are not installed but are present in the control unit and could be installed.
